Open 5.70 World Cup , your next
great event
Here's what Hervé Verroust says
about this event :
"A true photograph
of Provence "
Some pictures of the surroundings
of the club will confirm soon the charm of the place.
Pierre Caste, President of the Club
owns personnally an Open 570, and the club also. The staff is present
during our first meeting and immediately we can see that these people
have no problem in organising big events. The speech was short and precise:
the organization has already been well established during former championships.
The ' Etang de Berre ' is widely sized.
The proximity from the sea (a few hundred meters) should provide thermal
wind regimes that are normally in the late morning at 15-20 knots at
the time.
The courses will be bananas (6 or
7 in three days), and if weather conditions are in line with expectations,
a small coastal.
The dog will alternate legs pointed in order to avoid any hint of sending
small spi in this board.
Two possible winds :
Mistral summer may be strong but the water, closed, is very safe or
not thermal very morning but returned strong enough to rely on the capacity
planning of the 570.
The Committee and the Board are entitled
without any problem.
The Club and its staff have organized numerous French Federal Championships,
but also competitions for a large majority of the international series.
; they will apply the rules stated on the class site and for weighting
subject of controversy, will apply the principle of voluntary disclosure
to competitors listings. Of course, random checks will likely be hold
at the discretion of the Committee on this subject and on respect for
the mass of the cash security.
The club staff regularly launches
their two Open 5.70 from the ramp ideally situated in front of the Club.
The Open will be at the mooring just
outside the club or on a pontoon which will be reserved in the harbour
( 800m from the club).
A parking place will be provided for your trailers throughout the duration
of the regatta.

A special "Provence Essential Challenge" is organized by the
club , but we cannot tell more about this
Inscription fees will be little :
around 130 euros (to be confirmed) per boat, included in addition to
the regatta, the event T shirt, the traditional meal of crews (which
promises good moments away from the frozen baguette sandwich) and the
memory of the 'Provence Essential Challenge' (still top secret).
For those who wish to spend a few
days, I visited the "blue code" between Marseille and Martigues
(30 km) and I was pleasantly surprised by the quaint charm of small
ports .
